YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was shifted back to Chanchalguda Central Jail on Wednesday night after a hospital discharged him in Hyderabad.
Police escorted Jagan back to jail from the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), where he was admitted on Aug 30.
Doctors at NIMS had forcibly administered intravenous fluids to Jagan on Aug 31 after he refused to end his fast against the Congress party's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.
He was admitted to Osmania General Hospital on Aug 29 when his condition started deteriorating. He was later shifted to NIMS.
Jagan was shifted to Chanchalaguda jail amid tight security. His supporters and party activists thronged the hospital and jail premises to get a glimpse of Jagan amid rumors that he was moved out of the hospital.
